Setup and Razer Synapse
Contents
After pushing back everything on the desk to make space, the first thing that strikes you is that the Razer Gigantus is a big, big mouse mat and definitely lives up to its namesake (just look how tiny that Razer Diamondback looks in the centre of the pad to give some scale to the picture!):

If you are familiar with Razer products, you will know that they utilise Razer Synapse as their software suite for its driver and configuration tool. However, you may or may not know many Razer Synapse enabled mice also feature surface calibration which is a excellent feature to get the very most out of your mouse. After updating Razer Synapse, I went into the software to check for a pre-calibrated profile for the mouse mat. Unfortunately I was disappointed to find there was no pre-configured mat in the software for this particular pad. All is not lost, however, as we can setup a customised calibration for the pad but it would have been nice to have seen this available ‘out of the box’ so to speak:
